چکیده
Dysferlin is a sarcolemmal protein present in muscle cells. It responsible for membrane repair. gene (DYSF) mutation, resulting deficiency this protein, termed dysferlinopathy. Clinically, it manifests as early adulthood onset of weakness with markedly elevated creatine kinase levels. The main phenotypes are limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B (LGMD2B), affecting proximal muscles, and Miyoshi myopathy (MM), distal muscles. also cardiomyocytes, case reports have emerged cardiac abnormalities While routine methods screening, namely, electrocardiography or echocardiography, convenient noninvasive, they often exhibit insufficient diagnostic sensitivity detecting subclinical remodeling during stages cardiomyopathy. Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging though can provide accurate assessment chamber sizes function. With gadolinium administration, detect areas myocardial scarring fibrosis. Early diagnosis neuromuscular disease-related cardiomyopathy clinical significance, appropriate treatment retard fibrosis, delaying progression. We patient MM incidentally diagnosed concomitant

Myocardial Damage Detected by Late Gadolinium Enhancement Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Is Uncommon in Peripartum Cardiomyopathy
BACKGROUND In peripartum cardiomyopathy, the prevalence of focal myocardial damage detected by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiovascular magnetic resonance is important to elucidate mechanisms of myocardial injury and cardiac dysfunction. LGE equates irreversible myocardial injury, but LGE prevalence in peripartum cardiomyopathy is uncertain. METHODS AND RESULTS Among 100 women enrolle...
متن کاملEarly detection of cardiac involvement in Miyoshi myopathy: 2D strain echocardiography and late gadolinium enhancement cardiovascular magnetic resonance
BACKGROUND Miyoshi myopathy (MM) is an autosomal recessive distal myopathy characterized by early adult onset. Cardiomyopathy is a major clinical manifestation in other muscular dystrophies and an important prognostic factor. Although dysferlin is highly expressed in cardiac muscle, the effect of dysferlin deficiency in cardiac muscle has not been studied. We hypothesized that early myocardial ...
متن کاملEvidence of Gadolinium Late- Enhancement on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging in a Patient With Peripartum Cardiomyopathy
Peripartum cardiomyopathy is a rare, but severe, cause of heart failure. We present the magnetic resonance imaging findings of a patient diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy. A 30-year-old woman with no history of heart disease was admitted to our hospital for congestive heart failure symptoms a month and a half after an uncomplicated delivery. Echocardiography showed moderate dilatation of...

Sunitinib malate, an oral multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), has been approved for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. It is supposed that this targeted approach improves antitumor activity with less toxicity than traditional chemotherapy. However, unanticipated cardiotoxicity related to TKIs has been reported. Less well described are ...
متن کامل[Evidence of gadolinium late-enhancement on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging in a patient with peripartum cardiomyopathy].
Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a form of heart failure that affects women late in pregnancy or early in peripartum. The present report describes a case of a patient with PPCM demonstrated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with late gadolinium enhancement of the left ventricle (LV). The late gadolinium enhancement of MRI improved associated with recovery of cardiac function. Endomyocardia...
